FRANKLIN, MA--Mary Mazzio, a member of the 1992 U.S. Olympic Rowing Team, an award-winning documentary filmmaker, former law firm partner, and founder and CEO of 50 Eggs, an independent film production company, will be the special guest speaker at the Massachusetts Celebration of Girls and Women in Sports Day (GWS Day) on February 5, 2010, at the Great Hall at Faneuil Hall in Boston. This event, which runs from 10:00 a.m. to noon, is a formal but fun recognition day for high school female athletes and the adults who support and inspire them. The event is co-sponsored by the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA) and the New Agenda: Northeast.
The Massachusetts Celebration is held yearly as a tie-in with the National Girls and Women in Sport Day (NGWSD), which began in 1987 as a day to remember Olympic volleyball player Flo Hyman for her athletic achievements and her work to assure equality for women's sports. Hyman died of Marfan's Syndrome in 1986.

Mass is at 5:15 p.m.) Rosary at 6:00 p.m. and Evening Mass at 6:30 p.m. with Speakers.
