SNIP-ITS HOSTS HAIRCUT-A-THON TO AID KIDS IN HAITI National Children’s Focused Franchise to Help Orphanage in Port-au-Prince NATICK, MASS. February 11, 2010 – In a concentrated effort to support Haiti during this devastating time for families and children, participating Snip-its (www.snipits.com.) children’s hair salons are donating proceeds from every haircut on Tuesday February 23, 2010 to aid God’s Littlest Angels, an orphanage just above Port-au-Prince, in the Kenscoff Mountains. Snip-its locations across the country will be participating in this haircutting event. “We are very pleased to host this hair-cut-a-thon to support Haiti’s children during this devastating time,” said Rebecca Zola, franchisee of Snip-its in North Attleboro. “If parents have a choice to bring their children in for a haircut that week, we would appreciate it if they would try to come in on February 23rd and help in our collective effort to support the children suffering in Haiti.
This February, the Attleboro Arts Museum welcomes Celebrating Diversity – a breakthrough multi-cultural arts exhibition. Celebrating Diversity represents the greatness that can be achieved when we embrace diversity and inclusion. Elena Calderón-Patiño, Community Arts Program Director of the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts (RISCA), curates this group show featuring a variety of media from over 40 New England artists. American Credit Counseling Service, Inc. continues its series of free monthly financial education workshops on Tuesday, February 23rd from 6:30 – 8:00 PM at their Education Center located at 4 Taunton Street, Suite 5 in Plainville. This month’s workshop is entitled “Tax Time Financial Check-Up”. Topics of discussion will include developing a financial picture, and strategies to improve your future including using your tax return as a debt elimination tool. Attendees will have the opportunity to obtain a copy of their free annual credit reports. Individual counseling will also be available from 5:30 – 6:30 PM.
