The National Shrine of Our Lady of La Salette, located at 947 Park St.,on Route 118 in Attleboro, MA, announces the 2011 Christmas Festival of Lights beginning Thanksgiving evening November 24, 2011 to January 1, 2012 with daily Illuminations from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. depicting the new theme, “Light of Life.” Admission and parking are free to the public! But donations are always welcome! Father Pat’s concerts are held Tuesdays thru Sundays, in the Shrine Church. Other visiting guest artist’s concerts are held in the Welcome Center Concert Hall.

Dayspring Christian Academy will stage the first of three public Open House programs this year Saturday, Jan. 14, from 9 a.m. to noon at the school located at 1052 Newport Avenue (Route 1A at its intersection with Interstate Route 95) in Attleboro.
According to Administrator Frank Rydwansky, the Open House is designed to provide hands-on information about DCA to potential students for the 2012-13 academic year and their families. The Jan. 14 program will include guided tours of the school and its facilities by DCA administration, staff and faculty members, with printed materials distributed free of charge and all questions answered.
The Jan. 14 program is open to the public, free of charge, and no advance reservations will be required. Free refreshments will be offered to all in attendance.
Dayspring Christian Academy is an interdenominational and coeducational school which teaches students in pre-Kindergarten-3 through Grade 8 from a distinctively Christian world and life view. | ||

As part of its ongoing mission to preserve, restore, promote and develop the historical assets of our city, the Attleboro Historic Preservation Society will present a program about trolley usage in Attleboro and surrounding communities. The program presenter will be George Yelle with photos and assistance from Bob Lanpher.
This program will be presented at the monthly meeting of the Attleboro Historic Preservation Society at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday, January 19, 2012. It will be held at the Attleboro Industrial Museum at 42 Union Street, Attleboro, MA.
The public is invited to attend and to bring a friend.

· Learn the symptoms of hypothermia (shivering, exhaustion, drowsiness, confusion, fumbling, and slurred speech) and seek medical attention right away.
· When it comes to driving, never drink and drive, always wear a seatbelt, and avoid traveling when the weather service has issued advisories. Service your automobile’s radiator and maintain antifreeze level. Check the tire tread or, if necessary, replace tires with all-weather or snow tires.
