DoubleACS is proud to announce that we are launching a new citizen journalism program, You Be the Press. You Be the Press will have two components, a website, youbethepress.com and a 30-minute monthly television show aired on DoubleACS Channel 15. Both will consist entirely of community-produced journalism with citizens as the reporter, editor and writer. With You Be the Press you can report on stories and events that you think are important. You shape the news and bring exposure to topics you care about. You are the press!

On Youbethepress.com you will be able to post your written news articles, video news packages and audio. You will also be able to comment on the posts of other community journalists as well as post your article or news package direct to facebook, twitter and google plus.

The You Be the Press television show will consist of the best news packages from that month on youbethepress.com. For each monthly show we will pick a community journalist to be the anchor of the television newscast.

If you have a story to tell or if you have an interest in reporting, shooting, editing , or writing the news, then give us a call. This is a great opportunity for you to get your feet wet in the world of journalism and a great way to build a demo reel. We will be having an informational meeting on Thursday April 26th at 6:00 PM at our studios located at 42 Union Street in Attleboro. We’ll explain what You Be the Press is all about and get you signed up for free training to be a community journalist.
